Cash-flow reports

See income, expenses, net cash flow, and unpaid invoices. Choose a reporting period to understand how your business is doing.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Clear answers.
Before you begin.

Get to know how Gather Books fits into your business.

Who is Gather Books for?

Gather Books is designed for small business owners who want one place to organize everyday bookkeeping. It suits service businesses, salons, independent professionals, and other businesses keeping a cashbook in Canadian dollars.

What happens after I create an account?

Confirm your email, sign in, and add your business details in Settings. Your workspace starts with empty books and a bank account, ready for your own records. If you already have a Gather Books JSON backup, you can restore it in Settings.

Does it connect directly to my bank?

Reconciliation currently uses bank statements you enter manually. Add the statement dates and balances, select transactions that have cleared, and review the difference before completing a statement.

How does payroll work?

You enter gross pay, deductions, and employer contributions. Gather calculates net pay from those amounts and records payments and remittances you have made. Statutory deductions are entered manually; the software does not send payments or file payroll returns.

Can I download invoices and my records?

Yes. Download an invoice document or use your browser to print it or save a PDF. Export transaction ledgers and product lists as CSV, and download a full JSON bookkeeping backup from Settings. Issuing an invoice updates its status; you share it with your customer yourself.

Are my books saved to my account?

Your bookkeeping workspace is saved to the cloud and tied to your signed-in account. Each account has its own records. Settings also lets you change your sign-in email and password, request a reset link, and choose a light, dark, or device theme.
